Hora x Poosh Hyaluronic Halo + CBD Serum First Impressions Review
Does Hora Skin Care sound familiar? It should, because I’ve spoken about their Super Serum and Overnight Exfoliating Mask quite a bit over on Instagram! It’s hard for me to finish serums in an appropriate amount of time, but I had no problem finishing up the Super Serum. When I saw that Poosh was doing a collaboration with Hora, I was so excited. I had high hopes for the serum since I loved Hora’s original Super Serum so much. Let’s get started with the breakdown on the new Hyaluronic Halo + CBD Serum…
The Hyaluronic Halo + CBD Serum has a pretty minimal ingredients list, 10 ingredients to be exact. Take a look:
Purified Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Prunus Persica (Peach) Leaf Extract, Cannabidiol (CBD), Polysorbate 20, Butylene Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)
Immediately I see some really great ingredients. You know how much I love Vitamin C, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid. Those three are listed as the main ingredients on Hora’s website, along with 200 mg of Cannabidiol (CBD). Here’s what they do:
Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrating, plumping, healing. This is actually great as an anti-aging ingredient because it helps your skin retain moisture. When the skin loses it’s moisture over time, that’s when we start to see signs of aging.
Cannabidiol (CBD): In topical skincare, CBD usually helps to calm the skin. I personally find that it helps with inflammation and irritation.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): This ingredient has a number of great benefits including reducing redness, improving and repairing your skin’s moisture barrier, and more. I actually suggest reading up on what Paula Begoun has to say about it.
L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): A great antioxidant, brightens uneven skin tone (including any scarring you might have) and has anti-aging properties!
As I mentioned before, I loved Hora’s Super Serum. The Hyaluronic Halo + CBD Serum has a lot of the same ingredients as that one, except for a few. The Super Serum has more ingredients and contains the above, plus Vitamin A, Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil and Marine Collagen (as some of the main ingredients).
Now onto more specifics, size, pricing and value. The Hyaluronic Halo + CBD Serum costs $50.00 for 1 oz. While I do wish the bottle was bigger, I only needed to use 2 pumps of the Super Serum (which is the same size, but $4 more) to cover my face and neck. Since the bottle is the same as the Super Serum, 2 pumps of product would also suffice. It lasted me a few months with daily and nightly use, so twice a day.
This serum is cruelty free, fragrance free, oil free, paraben free and vegan. Available for purchase at Hora Skin Care.
A note on the dermaroller – I won’t be using this because I’m personally not comfortable using it on myself. I would only use it if you really know what you’re doing! Nevertheless, it’s cute.
